It’s really true, the most awaited parties in Cascais are back. After 2 years of a much felt break, the Festas do Mar will return to the bay of Cascais in 2022 for two weekends of great music and dance.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The confirmed dates are 25 to 28 August and 1 to 4 September. For now there are no names announced yet, but you can already book these days to visit the town of Cascais and see your favourite artists.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Festas do Mar: do you know the main artists that have passed through the festival since 2010?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The first edition of Festas do Mar brought a new concept to Cascais bay: a free summer festival, with big names in national music. It took place in 2010 and featured Jos\u00e9 Cid, GNR, UHF, among many others.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Since then, it has become difficult to think of a Portuguese artist who has not taken part in the Festas do Mar. Pedro Abrunhosa, Xutos e Pontap\u00e9s, Rui Veloso, Jorge Palma, S\u00e9rgio Godinho, Cl\u00e3, D.A.M.A., Paulo Gonzo, Miguel Ara\u00fajo and Ant\u00f3nio Zambujo – all have been part of at least one memorable night in Cascais, and many others too (we could spend all day listing a decade of Festas do Mar posters, always with great confirmations). What to expect at the Festas do Mar in 2022?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Besides the music, there are several “eat and drink” places scattered around the village (not counting the restaurants already present) and several handicraft and local commerce stalls. It has also become a custom since the first edition to see the firework display over the sea, which typically occurs on the last day of the festival.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

But it is not only the fireworks that make the last day of the Festas do Mar so special. Every year, the Cascais Symphony Orchestra gives a thematic concert to close the festival in a unique way. For example, it has played Disney’s greatest hits in concert, and in 2017 it played in conjunction with the Bootleg Beatles in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band album.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
